Ever since his commercial success in 2019, DaBaby’s star has been shining brighter and brighter. After the release of Suge which put him on the map, the artist has released bop after bop.
Fans love him not only for the catchy beats in his tracks but also for his catchy raps. Every song he features in or works on turns to magic. Despite having so much favour with fans, he has not had so much favour with the law.
Shoot and Kill – Huntersville, North Carolina
DaBaby whose real name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk has had a couple of legal troubles. His most severe legal run-in dates back to 2018. He shot and killed a 19-year-old man in Huntersville, North Carolina while shopping with his baby mama and two children.
The artist who claimed the incident was an act of self-defence was only found guilty of a misdemeanour of carrying a concealed weapon. This was after the more serious charges were dropped in March 2019. He was sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation.
Battery in Connection with Robbery – Miami
DaBaby’s other run-in with the law was when he was arrested and charged with battery in connection to a robbery investigation in January 2020. The robbery was after a promoter paid DaBaby $20,000 instead of $30,000. The State reported that DaBaby and his associates took $80 cash, an iPhone 7 and credit card from the promoter. The rapper spent 48 hours in Miami-Dade County jail before being released.

DaBaby switches gears and offers an apology to the woman that got slapped.
“So I do apologize it was a female on the other end but I think by this time it’s a well known fact that like, male or female, I would’ve responded the same exact way.” pic.twitter.com/IU3EMKD8m5

King von lost his life in a shooting incident last year in November. Ever since then, many people have come out to talk about how they knew the rapper, including his former girlfriend Asian doll.
According to Asian Doll, King Von was her boyfriend, but King von’s sister seems to have different sentiments.
Kayla B took to Twitter, claiming that her brother was dating nobody before he died. She wrote, “Von wasn’t in a relationship wit nobody before he died, Wasn’t getting back wit nobody he was living his best life fuckin wit who Eva he wanted 2.”
Kayla’s sentiments contradict Doll’s story. Asian Doll claims that King Von told her last words before he died.
