The photos from the crash scene of NBA legend Kobe Bryant have resulted in another lawsuit. Husband to Christina, Matthew Mauser, is suing the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department over photos that were taken at the crash site. Earlier this year, Vanessa Bryant, Kobe’s wife, filed a similar lawsuit against the department.
As reported on TMZ, Matthew is suing the department for invasion of privacy, negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and more. The husband to the late 38-year-old mother is seeking unspecified damages in excess of $25,000 for the alleged negligence.
Matthew claims that Sheriff Alex Villanueva failed to secure the crash site, which led to deputies taking and sharing unauthorized photos of the victims. This, in turn, has resulted in Matthew and his three daughters suffering humiliation, anxiety, and emotional distress “from the realization that photographs of their mother and wife were wrongfully taken, shown and discussed.”
“These facts show that Sheriff Villanueva had a special duty to ensure that the scene of the crash was given the highest caliber security his department could employ,” Mauser claims in his suit.
Vanessa Bryant had also sued the department earlier in the year. In her lawsuit, she stated that one of the eight deputies who had taken photos of Kobe, Gianna, and other victims was overheard by a bartender showing the pictures to a woman he was trying to impress.

Her lawsuit read, “Ms. Bryant feels ill at the thought of strangers gawking at images of her deceased husband and child, and she lives in fear that she or her children will one day confront horrific images of their loved ones online.”
Inspired by the controversy, California Governor Gavin Newsom, on September 28th, passed legislation prohibiting first responders from taking unauthorized photos of victims at a crime or crash scene.
“Proud to report that my bill, The Kobe Bryant Act of 2020, was signed today by Gov. Newsom. #AB2655 will prohibit first responders from taking photos of the deceased outside of job duties,” tweeted 64th District Assembly member Mike A. Gipson on September 29th.
Irish boxer Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier will go head to head today, seven years since the duo last fought.
The world anticipated the historic UFC 257 Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier rematch, and now it is here. The duo fought last in 2014, and over the years they have changed.
For instance, Poirier won a couple of fights against boxers like Justin Gaethje, Max Holloway and Eddie Alvarez. Apart from getting some titles, McGregor fought in 2017 with Floyd Mayweather, a match he lost.
There are other anticipated fights like Michael Chandler against Dan Hooker. Michael is after the title because he wants to add it to his wins while for Hooker, this could be a chance to redeem himself after losing to Poirier last year.
In the women’s battle, Amanda Ribas will be taking down Marina Rodriguez. Joanne Calderwood and Jessica Eye will compete for the Women’s Flyweight title while Makhmud Muradov will battle against Andrew Sanchez for the middleweight championship.
Like boxer Khabib Nurmagomedov, many fans are predicting that McGregor will take the win, but we can not be so sure as Poirier has been working and preparing hard for the fight. Besides, Conor has not fought for the last one year. It sure will be contested.
McGregor is reported to earn more than twenty million dollars from the Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier fight.
You can stream the Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier match that will take place in the Etihad Arena, Yas Island Abu Dhabi, via ESPN channel tonight at 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT).
