Spotify employees can’t take it any longer. Ever since Joe Rogan joined the company in a lucrative mega-deal, there have been concerns over some of his episodes deemed transphobic.
The comedian signed a licensing deal with the company making Spotify the home to his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. He has 9.5+ subscribers on his YouTube channel, which is a huge advantage to the company as he’s bound to attract his listeners from other platforms.
In a meeting with the CEO, the employees were bold enough to ask what was his message to the LGBTQAI+/ ally Spotifiers who felt unwelcome and alienated because of the management’s response towards JRE transphobic episodes.
They especially highlighted one episode where Joe Rogan hosted Abigael Shrier, the author of Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters, a book that many people have labeled transphobic.
Well, let’s just say it didn’t go as they expected as the CEO, Daniel Ek, said that the episodes in questions had been reviewed, and the leadership wasn’t changing its position.
However, some of the episodes had been pulled down a few days after Rogan signed the deal. They included the interview featuring conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.
This is reportedly not the first time there are concerns about the podcasts. There have been 10 different meetings held with various individuals and groups to listen to their concerns. Some people have even suggested that Joe Rogan be removed because of some of his past sentiments.

His fans, however, are not happy about the missing episodes, and some claim he’s been sold out. Joe Rogan had assured his fans that Spotify didn’t have any creative control over the content and that the show would remain the same.
Fans took to social media over the missing episodes and threatened to boycott the brand.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump also wants to appear on JRE. In an email sent to his supporters, he asked them to sign a petition demanding Joe Biden to debate him for 4 hours live on Rogan.
Do you think the episode would be pulled down? Trump is not known to keep calm, especially against an opponent.
