Kodak Black Asks President Trump To Free Him From Prison

Kodak asks President Donald Trump to change his sentence, arguing that four years is too harsh for the nature of the crime he committed.

Bill Kapri, better known by his stage name Kodak Black, is a rapper, singer, and songwriter from Pompano, Florida. The 23-year-old is in prison for falsifying information on federal forms to purchase a firearm last year. Kodak is currently serving a four-year sentence behind bars.

As much as he should face the consequences of his mistakes, four years seems to be too harsh for the nature of the crime he committed. This is according to Kodak’s lawyers, who are trying to free him based on that argument.

According to TMZ, Kodak is directly asking President Trump to commute his sentence. Kodak’s attorneys Bradford Cohen and Jonathan Schwartz sent a petition to the President requesting the rapper’s release out of prison. Kodak’s legal team argues that the average sentence for the crime the artist committed is eighteen months, yet Kodak got forty-six months.

The petition also points out how the system wrongly positioned Kodak as a level 4 criminal despite him being merely a level 2. It also addresses the assault that Kodak is accused of, him attacking a correctional officer. Regarding that accusation, Kodak claims to have been drugged and set up for the incident. His lawyers argue that the rapper is being unfairly punished for that occurrence.

The latest lawsuit filed by the artist is also considered in the petition. Kodak has made claims that he is being tortured in prison. The artist says that at times he’s forced to urinate and defecate on himself as the guards stand by watching and laughing at him, inducing him with humiliation and trauma. He also professes to being forced to go onto his knees execution-style, wearing nothing but his underwear.

This inhumane treatment, according to the suit, causes emotional and physical stress to the rapper.

DaBaby's Run-Ins With The Law

Ever since his commercial success in 2019, DaBaby’s star has been shining brighter and brighter. After the release of Suge which put him on the map, the artist has released bop after bop.

Fans love him not only for the catchy beats in his tracks but also for his catchy raps. Every song he features in or works on turns to magic. Despite having so much favour with fans, he has not had so much favour with the law.

Shoot and Kill – Huntersville, North Carolina

DaBaby whose real name is Jonathan Lyndale Kirk has had a couple of legal troubles. His most severe legal run-in dates back to 2018. He shot and killed a 19-year-old man in Huntersville, North Carolina while shopping with his baby mama and two children.

The artist who claimed the incident was an act of self-defence was only found guilty of a misdemeanour of carrying a concealed weapon. This was after the more serious charges were dropped in March 2019. He was sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation.

Battery in Connection with Robbery – Miami

DaBaby’s other run-in with the law was when he was arrested and charged with battery in connection to a robbery investigation in January 2020. The robbery was after a promoter paid DaBaby $20,000 instead of $30,000. The State reported that DaBaby and his associates took $80 cash, an iPhone 7 and credit card from the promoter. The rapper spent 48 hours in Miami-Dade County jail before being released.

Ayo, I had to get somethin’ off my chest; Benny The Butcher starts in his song 3:30 in Houston.

Benny has been vocal about his feelings towards people who share their moves and other rappers’ moves online, including Wendy Williams.

F**k all the bloggers, the n-gas who shot me

F**k all the apps, and f**k Wendy Williams.

Just yesterday, the rapper shared a short clip spelling out the difference between real n**ga and ordinary people.

With a joint between his lips, the rapper said,

You n-gas who be in the comments, running ya mouth thinkin’ y’all know everything? Swearing y’all street n-ggas? That’s rule No. 1, a street n-gga never speak on shit he know nothin’ about. And y’all n-ggas think an-gga ‘sposed to post every aspect of his life? C’mon man, y’all n-gas can’t be in the streets for real. Stop that.”

According to him, people who go announcing their plans on social media posting everything about their lives, and talking about other people are not supposed to be doing that and still claim to be ‘street nig**s.’

Wednesday the 20th of January will mark the last day of Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, being in office.

But as he leaves, he is not only going with Abraham Lincoln’s bust but also a list of high profile spitters in the music industry that he has pardoned.

Trump is reportedly going to pardon nearly one hundred prisoners. The pardon-list that was decided last Sunday will be unveiled next Tuesday.

Kodak Black has tirelessly fought to smell the air of freedom after being sentenced to 46 months in prison. He has also faced rejection from the court claiming that his reasons to be granted an early release don’t make sense.

Lil Wayne, who is also awaiting trial after pleading guilty to the charges he was facing, might have planned his early release. Rumour has it that Kodak Black and Lil Wayne are supposedly in Trump’s pardon list.

Remember how Lil Wayne endorsed Trump for president in the previously concluded elections, he might have done it to get favoured by the president.

That is, however, speculation. Don’t quote us. Kodak also promised to donate one million dollars to charity if Trump pardoned him.

Bobby Shmurda might get an earlier release, who knows.

Wednesday will also mark Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s first day in office.
