Remembering Those We Lost in 2020

Remembering Those We Lost in 2020

The past year has been brutal on many counts; it was a year of incredible loss and suffering for most. As we look towards a much better year and the coming of a less disastrous future, it’s necessary to take a moment to commemorate the lives of those we lost.

Among them are rappers, producers, entertainers, and more, who sadly left us within the past year.

We are thankful for their music and contribution to the culture.

1. Lexii Alijai

Rapper Lexii Alijai was found dead in a hotel room in downtown Minneapolis on January 1, 2020. According to Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office, the 21-year-old died from an accidental overdose of drugs and alcohol.

Lexii, whose real name was Alexis Alijai, was a rising star with over 100,000 SoundCloud streams. She had also featured on Kehlani’s song “Jealous” from her 2015 Grammy-nominated album, You Should Be Here.

2. Tre Koast

Lucious Treadwell, AKA Rapper Tre Koast, was murdered in a shooting on January 17, 2020, while parked outside his family’s street in North Phoenix, Ariz, according to Fox 10. The 21-year-old was an upcoming rap artist whose body was found inside his Dodge Charger, which had been sprayed with bullets; police said, “someone [firing] between 20 and 30 rounds.”

Tre Koast had released 3 singles in 2019, including “This Year,” “Safe Around,” and “Got It in Send It Out.”

“Lucious was the love of my life, he was my best friend, my go-to,” said Tre Koast’s girlfriend of nearly two years, “Music was his motivation, being in the studio was like his safe haven almost.” She added.

3. Kobe Bryant

The tragic death of basketball legend Kobe Bryant was heart-wrenching. The 41-year-old father of 4 died in a helicopter crash that took the life of his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, on January 26, 2020.

Kobe joined the NBA straight out of high school and became the youngest All-Star in NBA history at 19 in 1998. With five NBA titles during his time as a Los Angeles Laker, Kobe was one of the best basketball players in history.

4. Pop Smoke

Brooklyn-born rapper Pop Smoke, born Bashar Barakah Jackson, died on February 19, 2020. According to TMZ, Pop was shot by two masked men who broke into the Hollywood Hills house, which he had reportedly rented. He was 20 years old when he died. His death came just days after his second mixtape, Meet the Woo 2, landed at No. 7 on the Billboard Top 200 list.

Many substantial rappers spoke out over Pop Smoke’s untimely passing. Till today Pop smoke is still being celebrated for his unique sound and style by nearly all hip-hop stars.

5. King Von

Chicago-born rapper King Von was murdered in a shooting outside an Atlanta club on November 6, 2020. The 26-years-old father of two had for a long time been reputed to be a Black Disciples gang member and, according to police reports, a triggerman against rival group, Gangster Disciple members.

Von was a rap prodigy who was excellent at delivering spontaneous rhymes and freestyles.

Of course, these weren’t the only prominent characters we lost last year. We also had:

Just like Tupac Shakur and Nipsey Hussle, some of these stars didn’t get the chance to shine their brightest, but they will always be remembered through the work and legacies they left behind.

Lil Baby Shares Wealth Chart That Draws a Graph Starting From Poor to Super Rich

Lil Baby Shares Wealth Chart That Draws a Graph Starting From Poor to Super Rich

Lil Baby rose to fame in 2017 after his mixtape Perfect Timing became a hit. The 26-year-old has received tons of awards ever since and is still getting nominations for more.

Just like his fellow rappers, the Errybody rapper shows off his expensive Jewellery and cool drip.

The rapper, who has a net worth of five million dollars, decided to share a chart that distinguishes the wealthy and the low classes.

The chart has sparked an online debate that might not end soon. If the graph got made by a famous person who gets a million-dollar worth of gifts on his birthday, we have to listen.

The poorest people range between an income of zero dollars to five hundred thousand dollars in the graph. The next level is the middle class that ranges from $500,000 to 2 million dollars.

After the middle class, we have the upper-middle category. Now, this class ranges between two million to four million US dollars.

According to the The Bigger Picture rapper, those who earn between ten million and thirty million dollars fall under the wealthy class.

There is a ‘poor’ rich people category ($30M-$80M), then the comfortably wealthy class ($80M-$150M), followed by the rich (150-200), seriously rich ($200M-$400M), Truly Rich ($400-$800), Filthy Rich ($800M- $2Billion), before we land to the most fortunate group the Super Rich($ 2Billion and above).

Where do you fall? Let us know below.

Future seems to have the key to your future. When you listen to the Hndrxx rapper’s deep lyrics, you will notice that he has been giving fans advice for years. Not just ordinary advice, how to have a successful relationship kind of advice.

Kodak Black and Lil Yachty Exchange Icy Chains to Signify Unity

Kodak Black and Lil Yachty Exchange Icy Chains to Signify Unity

As a rapper, being icy is paramount. Diamonds, chains, golden teeth, and an overall drip are basic things known for rappers.

Recently, Lil Yachty and ex-convict Kodak Black posed to show off their icy chains. The duo exchanged their chains, and the pictures they posted might be considered the hardest in the rap scene.

Lil Yachty held Kodak’s piece with his hood’s name ‘1800 Block’ inscribed on it while the latter held Yachty’s anchor chain.

The duo did this to show that they are united. Immediately Kodak got released from prison; Yachty gave him a stack of cash amounting to 50,000 dollars as a homecoming gift.

Gorilla Glue Challenge? Louisiana Man Finds Himself in the ER After Trying to Prove Tessica Brown Wrong

The internet is a phenomenon with a significant influence on people. The serious incident of a woman, Tessica Brown, who applied Gorilla Glue to her hair, was a hit, but not one to be replicated. But a Louisiana man tried it, and the aftermath was dire.

Meet Len Martin, a 37-year-old man who tried to prove Tessica Brown wrong. Martin stated that the Gorilla Glue was not as strong as Tessica was trying to make. To prove her wrong, he took a red cup and applied the Gorilla Glue on it, then placed it on his mouth. His end game was he thought all he would need to remove was to lick it off. Boy, was he wrong!

Martin had to show up to the hospital with the cup stuck to his upper lip. The doctors were luckily able to take the cup off his lips through peeling, to which Martin described it as ‘painful.’ This came with a warning that if his lip did not heal properly, he would have to undergo surgery.

From an internet joke to finding himself in the ER getting a ‘painful peeling’ to get the cup off his lip, Martin had a message for everyone attempting to do the ‘challenge.’ Martin said, “This is definitely not one to try. Let’s just stop this now. … It’s very harmful.”

Martin added that he did not do the stunt for fame, according to what fans had to say. He had learned his lesson just like Tessica Brown had. Here have a look at what fans were throwing his way:
