On Wednesday, October 21st, Pepsi released an official commercial that included an unreleased Notorious Big freestyle.

The commercial graphics pay tribute to the rapper’s neighborhood, Bedford-Stuyvesant, in Brooklyn, where Biggie was born and raised. In the commercial, a group of animated figures is gathered in the streets of Brooklyn, and they are drinking an ice-cold Pepsi as they dance to music coming from a boombox.

Nothing can beat the P-E-P-S-I/Yes, I drink it constantly/Something ’bout the taste feels great, less filling/Tell ’em Biggie said drink it all, don’t test me/Nothing else beats a Pepsi/If it is, let’s see/I’m thirsty,” B.I.G. raps track on the track.

As reported on Chicago Tribune, the freestyle was initially aired during an interview on radio station HOT97 with D.J. Enuff way back in 1997.

The commercial comes ahead of Biggie Smalls’ induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next month. Biggie Smalls was announced to be receiving the honors alongside R&B/soul icon Whitney Houston, making him the second solo hip-hop artist to be given the honor.

1980’s rock artist Depeche Mode, 1970’s soft-rock band The Doobie Brothers, industrial rockers Nine Inch Nails, and 1960’s English rock band T-Rex were also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

This year’s induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is set for November 7th.
