Just like Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross and other famous rappers, Jay Z ventured into the Marijuana business.

Partnering with Caliva, a California based cannabis company, Jay announced Monogram (his cannabis line) on Friday 23rd October. Jay Z entered into a partnership with Caliva in 2019, gaining the title chief brand strategist.

To entertain his customers and celebrate his Monogram launch, Queen B’s husband created a song playlist titled ‘sounds from the Grow Room’.

It includes songs like “Legalize it” and songs from artists like Stevie Wonder, Rihanna, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and more. Weed smokers will enjoy the playlist for sure. Even non-smokers.

You can find it on the monogram website. Speaking of which, the advertising was carefully thought about. The slogan, “Refining standards, redefining growth,” starts readers off, after the playlist that is.

Rapper Hurricane Chris Indicted For Murder In Connection With Louisiana Shooting

Shreveport Police Department

31-year-old rapper Hurricane Chris was indicted on second-degree murder charges in Caddo Parish, Louisiana, on October 22. Following a decision made by a grand jury against the Louisiana native rapper born Chris Dooley based on a shooting that took place at a Shreveport gas station that left one man dead.

The incident occurred in June of 2020 at a Texaco gas station in the Western Louisiana city. Police got to the scene after receiving reports of the shooting in the early morning hours. The 32-year-old victim Danzeria O. Farris was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died.

According to the Shreveport Times, Chris told officers who arrived at the scene that he thought the man was trying to steal his car and therefore fired on Farris in self-defence.

Police said that a video obtained of the shooting refutes Chris’s claims. The ‘A Bay Bay‘ artist was arrested shortly after the incident.

“Investigators were able to secure video footage of the incident that detectives believe showed that Dooley did not act in self-defense,” authorities stated in a news release.

In addition to the murder charges, Chris is facing a related offence for the car that was subject of the quarrel between him and the victim. Authorities say that the 2016 Mercedes Sedan was registered to someone else in Texas and had been reported stolen. Chris is, therefore, facing additional charges of illegal possession of the vehicle.

Chris had been released from jail on June 21 on a $500,000 bond. His next hearing is scheduled for January 5, 2021.

The rapper is known for his famous 2007 track “A Bay Bay,” a single that landed on the top 10 Billboard charts of the Hot 100. His most recent release was ‘King Kane’ which came out in 2017.

Nicki Minaj Expresses Desire To Reconcile With Drake in Song With Sada Baby

Apart from diss tracks and a few petty social media jabs, Nicki Minaj and Drake have been quite tight-lipped about their feud.

Recently, the Queen of rap hopped on Sada Baby’s “Whole Lotta Choppas (Remix)” where she says that she hopes she can have play dates with her son and Drake’s son, Adonis.

“To be honest, I hope one day we do a play-date with Adonis,” she raps, to which Drake responded “play dates soon come.”

Drake and Nicki used to be extremely close, and they broke out on the music scene around the same time under the rap label Young Money Entertainment. In the recent years, however, things have changed between the pair.

Minaj and Drake have had many fights since they met, but the significant fallouts began back in 2015 after Drake began beefing with Meek Mill who Minaj was dating at the time. Meek Mill publicly claimed that Drake did not write his lyrics, sparking a back-and-forth between them.

This feud left Nicki at an awkward position. While she tried to stay out of the drama, Drake dragged her into it by implying that she was more relevant than Meek Mill.

Drake and Minaj reconnected and seemed to make up. The reunion was, however, short-lived. Drake made up with Meek Mill who had developed a bad relationship with Minaj after their 2-year-relationship split.

In December 2018, fans noticed that Minaj and Drake were not following each other on Instagram. February 2019, Nicki dropped a freestyle titled ‘Barbie Going Bad’ where she seemed to shade both Drake and her ex, Meek.

We are happy to see that the two desire to reconcile and mend their relationship. Hopefully, their repaired relationship translates to more hits for their fans!

As reported on TMZ, Bennett Sipes, claims in a lawsuit the Drake and Odell Beckham Jr. Were behind Kourtney Kardashian’s ex, Younes Benjima, and a gang of thugs beating him up. Surveillance shows Bennett getting attacked on March 24, 2018, at Delilah nightclub while Drake and Odell standby and watch the fight.

Bennett claims in the lawsuit that there was a confrontation between him and the defendants inside Delilah nightclub in WeHo. When he attempted to leave the VIP area, he says Drake gave the “throat slash” hand gesture. As he attempted to enter the restroom, Drake and Beckham’s entourage and Younes attacked him.

Sipes alleges Drake and Beckham ordered the attack, which has allegedly resulted in “extreme mental anguish and physical pain.” He suffered a traumatic brain injury from the attack. He is also suing Younes as well as Delilah nightclub for not providing adequate security.

Bennett’s lawyer told TMZ that they unsuccessfully tied to settle the case outside court. Bennett’s $250,00 lawsuit cites “past and future pain and suffering, medical bills, lost future earnings, past and future emotional distress and punitive damages.”

YFN Lucci Calls Youngboy Never Broken Again A Bitch

On Wednesday, October 21st, NBA YoungBoy dropped a flipped version of Jay-Z’s track; ‘The Story of O.J.’ On one line in the rendition, in particular, YoungBoy says in the flipped version that he wants to have a child with Reginae Carter. Regina Carter is Lil Wayne’s daughter and Lucci’s former girlfriend.

“The shit ain’t Fugazi, I’m tryna convince Fee to tell Reginae/How big the shit gon’ be if we have a baby, but I’m serious though,” he raps referring to his manager Fee as he also raps about Reginae.

Those lines left YFN Lucci feeling some typa way, and he did not take them well. Lucci has been romantically linked to Lil Wayne’s first child. The two were first an item in 2018 and have been on-and-off ever since.

Rumours claim the pair parted ways last year. Reginae said that they’re no longer together on an episode of T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle that aired back in April.

The Shade Room had however pointed out earlier, that they used the same chef on the same night and appeared to be sharing videos of the same meal earlier this month.

TheShadeRoom posted a snippet of a visual of YoungBoy Never Broke Again rapping to the flipped version, specifically the verse where he name-drops Reginae. To which Atlanta rapper, YFN Lucci, wrote in the comment section, “Boi a real b***h in person,” including a laughing emoji.

The flip version of “The Story of O.J.” released by NBA Younboy comes over a month comes after the release of his album Top. The album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Reginae doesn’t appear to have responded to NBA YoungBoy, who also hasn’t publicly addressed YFN Lucci’s comment. That may be because he has deactivated his Instagram account.
